Where to Stay in Santa Barbara

Sea, sand and shells- you will definitely enjoy all of these in Santa Barbara. If you’re someone who loves to hit the beach and lap up the sun, Santa Barbara would be a perfect destination for you. It isn’t one of the most touristic places in California, so it is not overrun like many other spots, which in my eyes, gives it even more appeal.

So, what are you lingering about? Get up and start packing for Santa Barbara. You do not have to worry on where to stay there because there are fairly affordable Santa Barbara house rentals.

Santa Barbara has the longest coastline in all of the U.S. It lies between the ranges of Santa Ynez and the Pacific Ocean. If you love the heat, year round, then this is the spot for you.

Take a breather and get the chance to veer off from the stress in the real world. Enjoy the Mediterranean-like weather. In Santa Barbara, you will always have the perfect reason to hit the beach and enjoy the sun as if it’s summertime.

Because it is not the most highly touristed place in California, this is ideal for tourists who want to take a vacation but are on a budget.

Indeed, you have an array of options on where to stay and what to do here. You can choose to stay in a place where you get a clear picture of the ocean view. When you choose to stay for a night, you get to spend at most five hundred bucks for your accommodation. This is already a perk for you since you get to have an access to all the amenities. Indeed, Santa Barbara house rentals are so affordable. You need not have a second thought on visiting the place. Do not let the chance get by without taking a trip to Santa Barbara, the only place you should be.

Admittedly, this isn’t nearly as cheap a place to stay and travel around as SE Asia, but then again, how many places really are? It is more relaxed than Istanbul and more mellow than Paris, and frankly shouldn’t be compared to any big cities like that, since it has the sort of small, hometown feel that you can usually see more in the Middle West of the United States.

That is a very nice and dramatic photo of Santa Barbara, who is it by?
I agree the small town character and the coast line is really impressive, its so close to LA which is featured on countless cruise itineraries.

Great blog and excellent tips as well. It is pretty hard to travel cheap in Santa Barbara but I feel you have figured it out! I was just there and had a great time. Hardly spent any money at all! Stayed at the South Coast Inn. So elegant and the perfect place to escape all of the city noise. Left me a ton of money to enjoy things I wanted to spend my cash on!

There are a ton of great hotels to check out while in Santa Barbara that will allow you to save money. Most of the hotels along the beach are pricy and actually not that nice. Though of course a lot of them are, the older establishments have failed to be modern and aren’t even worth a fraction of their price. I had to find this out the hard way which was such a damper on my vacation. Through countless friend recommendations I found the Sandman Inn. At such a good price, I’m allowed to spend my money on much more important things.

All the above comments are all great recommendations. Santa Barbara by far is one of the most expensive cities you can travel to in California. Hotel rooms-good ones are a dime a dozen and everyone wants to be down by the beach. Most of those hotels are worn down and musty. Trust me-I’ve done the leg work. If they aren’t and say named the Double Tree-you’re forking out close to $400 a night for a room. To many this might be worth it, but for me not so much. The Sandman Inn and South Coast are great hotels and I have stayed at both. Both offer different things and depending on your level of comfort and length of stay, you might choose one over the other. At the end of the day both are great establishments.

Awaiting moderation, links are stripped: Thanks for the tip Shanya. I have also found The South Coast Inn to be a very affordable option for travelers. It’s in Goleta which is great if you are visiting a son or daughter at UCSB, and it’s also nice to get away from touristy downtown sometimes. Because it’s in Goleta (which is only a 10 min drive from downtown), the price is WAY lower than some of those outrageously priced State Street hotels.

There are a ton of great, affordable places to stay in Santa Barbara. Of course you have your typical beach front, expensive rooms that everyone would dream of staying in but not everyone can. You can still have an amazing experience staying in a cheaper place. I’ve always enjoyed the South Coast Inn. Comfortable and not too far from the beach, business chic too!
